Lord Renwick
Chairman of Associated Television Corporation
Limited. Partner in W. Greenwell & Co.,
Stockbrokers. Late chairman of County of London
Electricity Supply Co. Ltd., from 1939-1948. He was
war-time Controller of Communcations, Air Ministry,
and Controller of Communications Equipment at the
Ministry of Aircraft Production.
In 1952 Lord Renwick was one of the founder
members of the Associated Broadcasting Development
Company, which in 1955 became Associated Television
and helped to provide the first programmes of
Independent Television.
Bill Ward - Director of Programmes
Age 52. Joined ATV at the inception
of independent television. Responsible for producing
many of ATV's best known and most popular
programmes.
Acted as executive producer for the
whole of ITV on the Tokyo and Mexico Olympic Games,
the last World Cup Football Championships and will
have overall charge for ITV of the forthcoming World
Cup Chamionships in Mexico. Bill Ward's great hobby
is motor racing and he has competed in a number of
Monte Carlo Rally events.
Bill Ward was appointed to the Board
of ATV Network, Ltd., in 1966.
Francis Essex - Production Controller
Aged 40. He composed scores for film
and West End productions before joining the BBC in
1953 where he was responsible for numerous series, as
well as producing many prestige productions.
In 1960 he joined ATV becoming
responsible for many of the company's top Light
Entertainment productions. In 1965 he recieved the
Producer of the Year award, from the Guild of
Television producers.
In March 1965, he joined Scottish
Television as controller of programmes. He rejoined
ATV in 1969 as Productions Controller and is now
Programme Controller for all programmes from ATV's
Birmingham Studios.
